Joe Ortiz is the Founder, Owner and Lead Interventionist of Transcend Interventions, a private intervention and family recovery firm dedicated to helping families move from chaos to clarity during moments of addiction-related crisis.
Joe is an educated, trained and mentored interventionist and recovery coach, with formal training from Brad Lamm (Break Free Method) and Dr. Robert J. Meyers, Ph.D. (CRAFT) — having trained directly with both leaders in the field. His work is grounded in evidence-based family engagement, compassionate communication and practical strategies that support meaningful change.
A clinician’s background
With more than 36 years in healthcare as a licensed Respiratory Therapist, and 26 years as a medical marketing professional and entrepreneur, Joe brings a rare blend of clinical experience, systems thinking and leadership to the intervention process. Seven years ago, he made a deliberate professional change and moved into the field of substance use disorder and mental health treatment, working as an Outreach Coordinator, Treatment Advocate, Interventionist and Coach.
Lived experience
Joe brings the perspective of lived experience, having been in recovery himself for 13 years.
How Joe works
Joe is known for a calm, grounded presence in moments of crisis. Families trust him not just because of what he knows, but because of how he shows up: steady, honest and focused on solutions. His work is rooted in dignity, accountability and the belief that healing is possible — even when things feel impossible.
“Through guidance and support, you’ll learn to communicate effectively and deliver a powerful message of love and support to your loved one. You will feel more empowered and gain greater clarity and control in your lives.”
Leading a curated network
