Transcend Interventions
Joe Ortiz
Joe Ortiz is the Founder of Transcend Interventions, a private intervention and family recovery firm dedicated to helping families move from chaos to clarity during moments of addiction-related crisis.
Joe is an educated, trained, and mentored Interventionist and Recovery Coach, with formal training from Brad Lam (Break Free Method) and Dr. Robert Meyers (CRAFT Method) — having been trained directly by both leaders in the field. His work is grounded in evidence-based family engagement, compassionate communication, and practical strategies that support meaningful change.
With over thirty-six years in healthcare as a licensed Respiratory Therapist, and twenty six years as a medical marketing professional and entrepreneur, Joe brings a rare blend of clinical experience, systems thinking, and leadership to the intervention process. He has worked in the addiction and recovery field for seven years and brings the perspective of lived experience, having been in recovery himself for over twelve years.
Joe leads a carefully curated network of experienced, independent interventionists, each with at least five years of established professional practice. These professionals are selected for their ethics, experience, and ability to work collaboratively within a coordinated firm structure that ensures accountability, communication, and continuity of care for families.
Joe is known for his calm, grounded presence in moments of crisis. Families trust him not just because of what he knows — but because of how he shows up: steady, honest, and focused on solutions. His work is rooted in dignity, accountability, and the belief that healing is possible — even when things feel impossible.
Professional Intervention Certifications
I am professionally trained and certified in two evidence-based intervention models: The Break Free Method by Brad Lamm and the CRAFT (Community Reinforcement and Family Training) method developed by Dr. Robert J. Meyers, Ph.D. These structured, family-centered approaches focus on strategy, compassion, and meaningful change. I believe recovery involves the entire family system, and I guide families through effective, well-planned interventions designed to create lasting impact.
CRAFT Certified Recovery Coach
As a CRAFT-certified recovery coach, I work closely with families and individuals to build healthier communication patterns and motivate change without confrontation or shame. Recovery is a process, and my role is to provide informed guidance, accountability, and practical tools that support lasting sobriety. With empathy and experience, I help clients regain stability, clarity, and confidence throughout their recovery journey.
Intervention, Recovery Coaching & Treatment Placement
I provide professional intervention planning, recovery coaching, and strategic treatment placement tailored to each unique situation. Every case requires thoughtful structure and decisive action. I work directly with families to assess needs, identify appropriate levels of care, and create a clear path forward. My focus is on helping families move from crisis to stability with professionalism, discretion, and steady support.

My Background and Approach
Seven years ago, after twenty-eight years as a licensed clinician, medical marketing specialist, and business owner, I decided to make a professional change. I transitioned into the field of Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health treatment. For the last seven years, I’ve worked as an Outreach Coordinator, Treatment Advocate, Interventionist, and Coach, helping individuals and families struggling with the disease of addiction.
Together, we will develop a plan for change, put it into action, and begin your journey of recovery. I will serve as your guy throughout this process, and together we will change your life for the better!
My Approach
I offer a new perspective and approach to addressing the challenges of addiction. Through guidance and support, you’ll learn effective communication and deliver a powerful message of love and support to your loved one. You will be empowered and gain better control of your lives. Together, we will create positive change and help your family recover.
